The Gaozuo Smart Agriculture Centre in Jianhu is a square building set over water whose roof is built from photovoltaic modules — a BIPV roof in which the generating surface is the roof covering itself rather than an array mounted above it.
It is one of our four BIPV reference projects in Jianhu, alongside the Jianhu Financial Tower, the Xifuhe zero-carbon park and the Chuanchang River Station. BIPV roofs of this kind combine roofing, waterproofing and generation in one component and are supplied with 50–500 kWh of storage where the building needs it.
