A 4,342.14 kW building-integrated PV roof on the Yancheng Gaoce New Energy Technology plant in Jianhu: 8,041 modules at 540 Wp form the roof covering of the factory buildings, generating about 4,776,400 kWh a year and avoiding around 4,762.02 t of CO2 annually.
An industrial roof of this size is the classic case for BIPV — the module layer replaces the roofing sheet over a large, flat, continuously occupied building, and the daytime generation matches the factory's own working hours. The installation was designed and built as part of the building rather than added afterwards.
